About Us

At Blackbird Therapy and Wellness, our mission is to support the healing and liberation of people of color by dismantling restrictive belief systems and nurturing freedom of mind and body. Through a focus on collective healing, sexual health, fat liberation, and affirming each person’s inherent worth, we create space for individuals to reclaim their power, embrace joy, and choose their own unique path in life.

Blackbird Therapy & Wellness is here to help you become the most authentic version of yourself. We live in a world that is full of opinions and criticism, making it hard at times for us to truly understand what we desire. Blackbird Therapy and Wellness is here to provide you the space to explore your inner world without the confusion that the outside world presents.

I am Mahogany Wilson, Clinical Social Worker, yoga teacher and founder of Blackbird Therapy and Wellness. I received both my undergraduate and graduate degrees from The University of Texas at Arlington, in their wonderful Social Work program. I have experience working with individuals ranging from pediatric to geriatric in outpatient and inpatient mental health settings. I also have experience in perinatal and postpartum mental health. I have since shifted my focus to support adults who are navigating transitions in their life and looking to gain a deeper understanding of their inner world. I also look to support individuals dealing with depression, anxiety, adjustment disorders, grief, disordered eating, body image and trauma. Here at Blackbird Therapy and Wellness we are Proudly LGBTQ+ affirming, trans affirming, and are a size-affirming practice.

We provide a range of services including traditional talk therapy, private meditation sessions (or a combination of the two!) as well as special events. During our initial session we can create a treatment plan specifically tailored to you and your individual needs. Contact us now to book a session and get started on your journey of discovery.
